Homemade Hamburger Helper

I hate deciding what to make every night and I miss the old stand-byes that were in my cupboards. but with my gut issues I need to start making better food. so lets try an old favourite but from scratch

Ingredients: 1 lb. (lean )ground beef (or try a beef substitute if you want) 1Tsp butter or oil 1 large onion diced well 1 bell pepper diced finely 2 cloves of garlic (unless your me and i double it if they aren’t huge)

2-3 carrots diced 1 cup mushrooms 1 can of peas drained 8 oz. of diced tomatoes with juice 1 cup beef stock 1 ½ cup milk (use whatever percent you prefer) 1 tsp parsley 1 tsp paprika 1 tsp onion powder 1 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pepper 2 cups of pasta (Macaroni, bowties and fusilli are recommended Method: Brown beef in a large thick bottomed pot. Drain and set aside Dice onion, garlic, pepper and any other veggies you wish to add. Add oil or butter and veg to the pot and simmer till soft, stirring and scraping up the brown bits left from the beef. That's flavour! Once soft add the can of diced tomatoes and simmer for a minute. Add beef stock, milk, spices and noodles to the pot. Bring to a boil, stirring often. Add beef, reduce heat and cover, cooking for 15- 20 minutes. Remove from heat and add cheese and stir till thick *Tastes best reheated*
